Transmedia artist, host-sentinel of visible and invisible movements, rhythms, of non-humans and humans. Choreographer, dancer and teacher Anani Dodji Sanouvi was born in Togo, grew up in Gabon, lived in Senegal, Belgium, the Netherlands and Brazil. He is recognised for his ability to assimilate different traditions and disciplines, including these in his practices in order to obtain his own language and his own dynamic style. His creations, workshops, lectures and artistic collaborations have been performed in various theatres, festivals, museums and cultural centres in Europe, Africa and Brazil. Sanouvi has been teaching at various dance and theatre institutions and companies such as the AHK Academy of Dance in Amsterdam (Netherlands), Maqamat Dance Theater (Lebanon), PARTS (Belgium), Impulstanz Festival (Austria), Kaay Fecc Festival (Senegal), French Institute of Florence (Italy), Bahia State Department of Education, Angel Vianna College, and currently guest choreographer in the Niteroi Ballet Company. In addition, Sanouvi has also collaborated with artists such as Peter Sellars and Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, Maestro Gustavo Dudamel at the Walt Disney Concert hall, with The Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. Currently doing an MFA in dance at the University of arts Philadelphia in Pennsylvania.
