‘Production Possibilities of the Maker Culture’ is an interdisciplinary research group at the UdK Berlin / Weizenbaum Institute. Hosting researchers with backgrounds in design, art, gender and sociology, the group takes a design-research approach to investigating the potential of ‘critical making’. During the ‘Open Studio’ at the Berlin Open Lab, visitors can have a glance at the work-process that the group is currently immersed in, including gaining some impressions of research into feminist hacking, as well as site-visits at makerspaces in Ghana, Togo and Kenya.
